To use an ADSL service you will require an ADSL modem. If you do not have an ADSL modem, you can choose to buy one as part of this sign-up process.
Total startup cost for these packages includes an $129.00 activation fee, a pro-rata fee for the remainder of the month, and any hardware bought during the signup process (modems, filters, etc.). Account customers will also pay a month in advance. This will be added to your first invoice. This invoice is generated upon confirmation of your provisioning date, and is billed upon your successful provisioning of the service.
All Hardware ordered as part of the signup process is shipped upon confirmation of your provisioning date. Should provisioning fail after the shipment of these goods, Comstar will assume the cost of the return of these items.
Plan speeds are indicated in kilobits per second, as such the expected speeds for our connections are as follows :
256/64 plans should attain speeds ranging between 22 and 27 kilobytes per second, but will vary depending on the download source.
512/128 plans should attain speeds ranging between 47 and 53 kilobytes per second, but will vary depending on the download source.
1500/256 plans should attain speeds ranging between 140 and 150 kilobytes per second, but will vary depending on the download source.
